Ayr United Do The Ton
Written by RockSport on February 27, 2018
Ayr United have managed to turn back the clock 30 years and go through the 100 goal barrier for the season, the first senior team in the UK to achieve the feat this term.
The Honest Men haven’t hit three figures since John Sludden headed in a Jim Hughes cross to seal a 3-1 win against Stranraer on April 9th, 1988.
Ayr were on their way to winning Division 2 in a three league set-up in Scotland the last time they did the ton.
Interestingly, Ally MacLeod’s men did it in game 41 – today’s League One squad, managed by former Rangers and Dunfermline Athletic player Ian McCall, did it in in five matches less.
Ian McCall will be on ROCK SPORT on Thursday morning around 10.15am [ 1st March ]
