Tony Iommi is hosting a charity lunch to raise funds for the cancer unit where late Black Sabbath keyboardist Geoff Nicholls was treated.
Taking place at Birmingham’s OPUS RESTAURANT on Friday 20th April 2018, Tony will regale guests with stories of his legendary life and career with Black Sabbath as part of a Q&A.
The 70-year-old heavy metal pioneer is Patron of Ward 19, the dedicated cancer ward at Heartlands Hospital, and is giving his full support to the charity’s campaign to raise £150,000 for an extension to cancer services at Solihull Hospital.
According to a statement on the hospital’s website, ‘this unit will increase the amount of cancer patients who can be treated by 170%, reducing waiting times, reducing stress and creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere for patients.’
