Scotland will play a series of four friendlies in preparation for their inaugural Uefa Nations League campaign.
Costa Rica will be the first opponents, at home on Friday 23 March, followed by away fixtures against Hungary, Peru and Mexico.
It could be the Scotland team’s first game under a new manager.
Main target Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill held talks with the Scottish FA earlier this week.
Costa Rica recorded a 1-0 victory over Scotland in the 1990 World Cup finals in their sole meeting thus far.

Costa Rica beat the Scots 1-0 in the opening group game for Andy Roxburgh’s side at Italia ’90 with our other two results at World Cup 1990 being a 2-1 win over Sweden and a 1-0 defeat by Brazil that sent the Scots home after Round 1.
