MAC Budapest For Braehead Arena

Glasgow’s Braehead Clan are delighted to announce that Erste Liga (Hungarian & Romanian league) champions MAC Budapest will be coming to Braehead Arena on Saturday 25th August (7:00pm face-off).
Following the withdrawal of Lions de Lyon from the Summer Series, the Clan moved to invite Budapest as their replacement.
The team from the Hungarian capital have recently announced that they will move to the Tipsport Liga (Slovakian league) for the 2018/19 season.
The first to visit in the Summer Series is the Fischtown Pinguins (Bremerhaven) of the German DEL on Saturday 18th August, with Dresden Eislöwen of the German DEL2 visiting 24 hours later on Sunday 19th August.
MAC Budapest are the third visitors to Braehead Arena on Saturday 25th August, with seven time Norwegian Champions, the Stavanger Oilers visiting on Sunday 26th August.
– Saturday 18th August, Clan v Fischtown Pinguins (DEL)
– Sunday 19th August, Clan v Dresden Eislöwen (DEL2)
– Saturday 25th August, Clan v MAC Budapest (Tipsport Liga)
– Sunday 26th August, Clan v Stavanger Oilers (GET Ligaen)
Clan Hockey & Operations Director Gareth Chalmers commented: “We were very disappointed when Lyon decided to withdraw from the Summer Series, as the pre-season at Braehead Arena will be a very exciting start to the season for the club and the Purple Army.
“I immediately contacted MAC Budapest, who have just recently join the Slovakian Extraliga, to replace Lyon. I’d like to thank Gergely Majoross and Bence Gyorgy for working with us to get Budapest to Glasgow.
“We are looking forward to welcoming the Budapest management, staff, players and supporters to Glasgow in August”.
